Vernon Schoemaker, President and owner of the dealership, served in the US Navy for three years and then went to work selling cars for his uncle in Amarillo, Texas. There, the automobile business became his life, and in 1968, he came to Irving where he established Toyota of Irving. In 1978, he purchased land on Hwy 183 (Airport Fwy.) and his dream of building a beautiful new facility came true. 

The business has far exceeded his expectations and expansion is underway. In 1998, a new pre-owned vehicle sales and service facility was completed. In September of 1999 we opened our ultramodern collision repair center. 

Vernon and his oldest son, David recently celebrated the company's 37th year in business. 

Over the years, Toyota of Irving has earned many awards. Among them, Toyota's top award, the President's Award, was received in 1993, 1995, 1996, 1997, 2001 and 2002. This honor is given to dealers for their outstanding performance in vehicle and parts sales and in outstanding customer service. Additionally, the Leadership Award was earned in 1994, 1995, and 1996 along with the Toyota Sales, Service and Parts Excellence Awards for the same years.

• Toyota of Irving has been in business for over 30 years, we are the oldest owned Toyota franchise in North Texas.
  
  
• Our Facility has grown and changed with the times.  In May of 1998, Toyota of Irving opened a 2.5-acre Pre-Owned Center.  This center warehouses over 150 pre-owned vehicles.
  
  
• In September of 1999, a 29,000 square foot Collision Repair Center was opened. The Collision Repair Center is a “State of the Art” facility with four refinishing preparation booths and two full paint booths that give a surgical environment to receive that factory like finish.  All body structure and refinish technicians are industry certified by I.C.A.R. (Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair).  The collision center works directly with most Insurance companies to help for a smooth process.
  
  
• Toyota of Irving and Parts Center have extended hours to help and serve your needs.  Need a Shuttle to home or work?  Toyota of Irving’s Service Center provides a Shuttle Van to get you there.
  
  
• Toyota of Irving also has Toyota Rent-A-Car program.  With onsite rentals, it is hassle free and quick, whether your car is in the Service Dept. or the Collision Center.
        
• Toyota of Irving Parts Center has a self-service area for those who like to do it themselves.  In November of 2000, we added out online Parts Store.  The Parts Center offers factory-packaged parts for tune-up repairs and other needs.  If Toyota of Irving’s Parts Center does not have your part in stock, with our dedicated delivery service, the part will arrive the next day (in most cases).
  
  
• Toyota of Irving Service Center is also the finest in the industry.  With the newly added Toyota Express Lube, oil changes can be finished in 30 minutes or less.
